My work in a hospice showed me first hand how helpful it was for the bereaved to be able to process what had happened during the time of losing their loved one, and in time to navigate life within the new dynamic you find yourself facing. I can offer steady support as you make sense of what happened through your change of circumstances and how it is shaping you.
Together we’ll gently explore your unique grief responses, ease emotions arising and tame overwhelm. You’ll learn how to honour what was lost while integrating it into your life story, so the pain no longer defines you. With compassionate guidance, grief can become a doorway to resilience, renewed purpose, and quiet growth.
An occasional session of supportive listening may be adequate to allow life to carry on, while others may want a longer time frame to accept the changes brought about by loss. As grief is so unique my offer of support is bespoke too.
I would recommend a period of 4-6 months after a bereavement before considering working with myself. There is so much to be done immediately after the loss of a significant person in one's life, and a sense of shock can be the most pressing emotion. There will be lots of tasks to undertake, people to see and maybe a dissociative state for a while. A little time is helpful here.
There are very good contacts in the Resources section on this website that can be there in the immediate effects of bereavement.
A 30 minute assessment call to assess your needs is free of charge, and if you decide after the call that you are still not ready to move ahead, that is perfectly fine. There is no obligation and total confidentiality.
I aim to make this service available to everyone who is keen to be supported by me and I look forward to chatting with you soon. In the meantime send me an e mail telling me where you are in life just now and what you would like help with.
