My work in a hospice brought me to clients at the end of life who were lovingly cared for. Also, I talked with family members who had become tireless carers for their loved ones.
I saw first hand how helpful it was for the bereaved to be able to process what had happened during the time of losing their loved one, and in time to navigate their life in changed circumstances.
Everybody has their own way of dealing with this and there is no 'One Size Fits All'. Learning more about Models of Grief can bring more understanding along with helpful resources and compassionate listening but every individual will need to experience grief in their own way.
An occasional session of supportive listening may be adequate to allow life to carry on, while others may want a longer time frame to accept the changes brought about by loss. As grief is so unique my offer of support is bespoke too.
I would recommend a period of 4-6 months after a loss before considering working with myself. There is so much to be done immediately after the death of a significant person in one's life and a sense of shock can be the most pressing emotion. There will be lots of tasks to undertake, people to see and maybe a dissociative state for a while. A little time is helpful here.
There are very good contacts in the Resources section on this website that can be there in the immediate effects of bereavement.
A 30 minute assessment call to assess your needs is free of charge and if you decide after the call that you are still not ready to move ahead, that is perfectly fine. There is no obligation and total confidentiality.
To enable you to assess your investment should you want to work with me my fees are currently £49.00 per hourly session.(£40 after tax).
I aim to make this service available to everyone who is keen to be supported by me and happy to consider a concessionary rate. To that end I am open to discussion should the investment be holding you back from taking action. Please don't suffer in silence.
