Boundaries

Boundaries can be defined as the limits we set with other people, which indicate what we find acceptable and unacceptable in their behaviour towards us. As we take responsibility for our own lives we also can set boundaries within ourselves to bring about desired results. Many of us are not brought up with boundaries. We have been shown by elders, peers, teachers and significant carers that it is not acceptable to say we don’t want to do something or that we have any power in any given situation.
