
It is very helpful to understand that we cannot sway another's feelings towards us. We cannot make another love us, like us, contact us more, do things for us the way we think they should with the desired emotions. eg Be happy to spend time with us or want to make us happy. The only person we have any sway over in life is ourself. It is beneficial to start to bring back the focus to oneself and to not look outwards to blame another for negative emotions experienced. Instead of thinking: They make me feel sad, neglected, lonely, angry etc. because they did/said.........................
